There is not a single 808, trap snare, or any other rap production in sight. On his single “ Social Cues,” Teezo sings ingenuously in autotune about his relatable social anxiety over pop-punk production. He’s talented enough to actually play a bit of guitar on several of his songs – songs that do not sound like rap songs whatsoever. Teezo doesn’t take this rockstar approach lightly, though. ![]() What it means to be a “rockstar” is subjective, but by now it’s seemingly evolved into more of a lifestyle and aesthetic choice rather than based on actual music genre. He brings a type of rockstar aesthetic to his visuals, that which has become one of the most popular tropes in modern rap culture. He has a chameleon-like dressing adaptability, and in many of his music videos, he’s dressed as a completely different Teezo Touchdown-adjacent character. He frequently dresses like a glam rock frontman from the future, sporting his signature steel nails in his hair, athletic eye black paint, platinum grills, designer pants and boots to match, and more. The first thing you notice about Teezo Touchdown is his stunning sense of fashion. ![]() With around 87,000 followers on Instagram today, Teezo’s bio reads, “Don’t worry you’re early.” Even still, it is never too late to discover a soon-to-be supernova. But to label the young Texan as a rap artist is discounting his ever-intriguing versatility. You may already be wondering, “Who is Teezo Touchdown?” He very well may be the most enigmatic rap artist to emerge since Young Thug’s meteoric rise in the mid-2010s. ![]()
